About the work
This painting is based on a photo I took at one of my favorite flower shops in Brooklyn. Alstromeria or peruvian lily is a great cut flower. I love the shape and mottled pattern on the flowers and the wonderful long stems. They last a long time too! The original is made with gouache on paper, my favorite medium to work with.
