Creating abstract compositions of torn tissue paper involves layering color and individual handmade shapes—similar to brush strokes—and is inspired by hiking in the mountains with my two preschool-aged boys. I love the tactile quality of the delicate tissue and the textural transparency that the humble material yields when overlapped.
