About this Painting: This painting is another of my drip series. The surface is created first in a color palette decided on. I use a variety of palette knifes and dig thick hatch marks across the surface for texture. When I feel the surface is to my liking and a bit tacky I then I drip oil paint mixed with some resin and paint thinner in another color palette. Gravity helps along with a lot of do overs which make the surface very thick. As the paint drips over the textured surface chance plays a big role in the outcome. These paintings take a few months to create and then another few months for the oil to dry as the oil paint is very thick.
