"In making this piece, I was inspired by the beauty of a finely crafted cocktail, both in preparation and presentation. Happy hour is as much a visual experience as it is in tasting, with cocktails coming in a rainbow of colors and arriving in glasses of many shapes. From martinis to margaritas, cocktails are beverages that wear cooler costumes." - Elliot Stokes
Elliot is a Los Angeles-based queer Asian American multi-disciplinary artist and art director, interested in making images that express his identity and memorialize meaningful observations. When producing artwork, he aims to delight himself and amuse and inspire others: much of his work is infused with levity. Elliot is inspired by everything: the obvious and obscure, offbeat humor, photography, word play, and the beauty of everyday objects. He is also inspired by the output of contemporary peers, creative predecessors and children’s book designers—some examples include Leo Lionni, Ed Ruscha, and Henri Matisse.
