This modern abstract painting represents a modern twist on botanical art. Inspired by the colors and flowers in my northern California garden, the piece captures the vibrancy of the flora against contrasting white negative space. Can be added to two other coordinating abstract botanical pieces to form a triptych.
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Caryn Owen created abstract paintings while simultaneously balancing motherhood and a career as a marine biology professor for years. In 2014, she left marine biology behind to predominately focus on art.
Using acrylic paint on canvas, Caryn creates abstract landscapes, abstract botanicals, or pure abstract expressionist paintings focusing primarily on color rather than form in her studio in Santa Cruz, California.
