I used to think geology was boring...just rocks. But I've come to realize there are few things as striking as desert canyons. Erosion is nature's paintbrush with strokes of line, color, and texture. This photograph was taken at sunrise in California's Death Valley. It is one in a larger series available in color and black and white.
