About the work

Having grown up in a province rich in heritage sites, architecture photography has become one of my favorite genres of photography. To create an interesting picture, I spend a lot of time examining the details of a structure and photographing it from various angles and in different lighting. There's always a way to photograph a structure and elicit an emotional reaction. At first glance of this black and white piece, the repeated shapes formed by the arches and its shadows may convey a sense of mystery. I find that the large clear sky gives a sense of balance to the frame.
