Hands continue to be one my favorite drawing subjects, the expression and detail they present an endless source of material. “Gesture - Closed Hands” is a pensive etching that draws attention to the intricacies and beauty of the human hand, allowing us to appreciate just one of its infinite possible gestures.     Alaine is a Texan transplanted to São Paulo, Brazil, where she admires the graffiti and tropical trees. She has studied drawing, painting, and printmaking at Sarah Lawrence College, the New York Studio School, the Andreeva Portrait Academy (Santa Fe, NM), and the SESC Pompeia (São Paulo). She also holds a master’s degree in Forest Science.
