I am fascinated with how light repeatedly reflects off of the surfaces it touches. In this painting I study light's various degrees of reflection and the color refractions that occur when it glances from one surface to the next. This painting is of one of the dining room windows in the Single Brothers' House which is an 18th century national historical landmark located in Old Salem, North Carolina. It is one within a series of paintings I am doing of the buildings and surroundings of Old Salem.
