About the work

This abstract acrylic painting takes a modern spin on landscape art. This seascape was inspired by the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean next to the green hills of the Santa Cruz Mountains during the spring in California. The creamy sky was inspired by the low clouds and bouncing light.

In 2014, she left marine biology behind to predominately focus on art. Using acrylic paint on canvas, Caryn creates abstract landscapes, abstract botanicals, or pure abstract expressionist paintings focusing primarily on color rather than form in her studio in Santa Cruz, California.
