About the work

A digitally illustrated charcoal drawing of a female lioness looking regal. The eraser tool was used to give texture and contrast. This piece is part of a series of black and white animal portraits. The lion population is declining; they were placed under the endangered species act in 2015, yet they still need conservation due to habitat loss and hunting.
