This series of three paintings were painted together. A palette of crème and white blends with metallic gold to create a calming, organic aesthetic. At the end, it reminded me most of a gem or crystal, like quartz. This piece pairs with Rutilated Quartz 2 and 3.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting.
