In my garden, in Southern Minnesota, the red bee balm and white hydrangeas start blooming at the same time right before the 4th of July. It always reminds me of fireworks. This acrylic painting with pen captures the explosive color and contrast of shapes between the two flowers. The swimming pool blue was used to further heighten the summer feel.
