I wanted to create a geometric, eye-catching piece that makes a statement with watery brush strokes and imperfect lines. I'm always looking for artwork that makes a bold impact on its own but that can also work alongside other great pieces in a room. That's what I tried to do here. I also wanted to play with geometric pattern in a new, more whimsical way. Hard angles repeat throughout the piece but they're painted with a soft hand to create a unique balance.

    Chicago, IL

Kristine is a graphic designer and mixed media artist working out of her home studio in Chicago, IL. Her artwork is created by experimentation with mark making through the use of different mediums and tools. Inspiration often comes from patterns in nature and the repetition of the city. She has a love for mixing unique and special colors through trial and error and the color palettes for her paintings evolve through that process.
