About Roann

Roann Mathias is originally from New Orleans, where the colorful architecture and plant life instilled in her a love of color and nature. For the last 22 years she has lived in Memphis, TN, and has travelled around the US and Europe. During these trips, she was inspired by the wilderness, particularly ocean and mountain views. Influenced buy her study of art history, she has drawn on abstract expressionism to create large gestural works. All of these varied interests can be seen in her art.
