I have always been attracted to unusual tile work. This piece contrasts the pattern of the tile with the shoes' pop of color. It brings together the hard geometric lines of the tile with the soft organic forms of the old shoes. When I created this I thought it would go well in a quiet study but also could brighten up a kitchen.
